I am now fully qualified!

Yogavision august news 1

At the beginning of the year I set out on a new path to train as a yoga teacher and if you read my post from that time you will see that I was very trepidatious about this exciting but also challenging undertaking. Although I completed and passed the practical part of the course back in the spring I still had a great amount of studying and written work to complete to obtain the full qualification. This included yoga worksheets on the history and philosophy of yoga that amounted to over 10,000 words and two exams - including a level 3 anatomy exam. As I also run my marketing and photography business full time it has been quite a challenge to fit in all the work and study. That, along with the fact that my old brain does not take in information quite as readily as it used too! Last week I travelled to London to take these exams and I'm really chuffed to say that today I received confirmation that I had passed them both meaning that I am now  A FULLY QUALIFIED YOGA TEACHER!

It has been an amazing journey so far - I have met so many lovely people, made many new friends and it has brought me back to teaching again which was what I trained for back in the day at Uni! My tutors Annie and Smita from YMCAfit were amazing - giving me and my fellow students the knowledge, skills and confidence to begin teaching ourselves. We have all kept in contact as a group and it has been lovely seeing them go out into their communities and spread the light of yoga.

I currently run two classes locally in Carbrooke and Thompson and these are going really well - I now have 30 students enrolled across the two. I also have a one to one session with the amazing Sam who is training for the Cancer Research shine Marathon walk in September and who has lost over 8 stone in the last year! I will be writing a special post about her very soon! Another up coming post will be about the World Yoga Festival which I went to back in July with my fellow yogini Tracey. This was another truly wonderful yoga experience!

Below is a little snap shot of my journey and the people I have met over the year. I'm aiming to combine these two passions of photography and yoga more over the coming months as I develop Yogavision as a business. I also have many other things in the pipeline - I plan to carry on learning and am looking at vinyasa and chair yoga courses as well as planning workshop days and retreats in 2019 so watch this space!

Finally a big thanks to all my family and friends who have supported me along the way - here's to the next chapter! Om shanti!
